The client brief on this project was to create a modern cottage style garden that made the most of an unusual shaped block and dealt appropriately with the slope of the site.

The feature of the design is a sunken firepit in the centre of the lawn with random French-laid bluestone pavers, a sunken circular corton steel firepit surrounded by railway sleepers.

Plants have been selected for their colour and drought-hardiness, as well as texture and form to create a garden that is pleasing to look at from the house and invites exploration.
